Can’t find where I live and now, some new issues.

I have been using the free version for a couple of years. It has been giving me the weather where I live, Delmar, NY. I just spent 5.00 and upgraded. I tried to add where I live to it and it tells me it can’t find it. So, the free version can find my location but the 5.00 upgrade can’t. Somebody please tell me how a more full featured version is incapable of functioning as good as the free version. Really !!
UPDATE (5/29/2016): About 2 months ago the app couldn’t find any of the cities that I had loaded into the preferences. When I start it up it gives me the warning that it can’t find my city. When I load a city into it, it doesn’t save it so I have to go thru the whole process everytime it starts. After I load it, it doesn’t display the info correctly. Very buggy. I have emailed the creator of the app numerous times and they have been unable to come up with a solution. I find it hard to believe that I am the only one having this issue. Again, the free version works perfectly. The only good thing about this app is that their customer service does get back to me promptly. Note: This app is installed on an iMac, 64 bit processor, running OSX 10.9.5.
